Our Story
Our Story
Our Story at Zelligerar is rooted in the tradition of Moroccan tile-making that began in 1974 in Tetouan, Morocco. From the start, our mission has been simple—preserve the timeless craft of zellige while adapting it to meet the needs of architects, designers, and homeowners around the world.
Unlike mass-produced tiles, every piece of zellige we create is handmade by skilled artisans. Local clay is hand-shaped, sun-dried under the Moroccan sky, and fired using olive pits and wood kilns. This sustainable method not only reduces waste but also brings out the depth and variation that makes zellige unique.
Our Story continues through the families of craftsmen who pass their knowledge from generation to generation. Each tile tells its own story of patience, artistry, and authenticity. Today, Zelligerar supplies projects globally, from modern interiors to historic restorations, always with respect for tradition and the environment.
